Kisah Guru Honorer yang Menguliahkan 5 Anaknya ke Jepang Simak Uraiannya
Suharni (54) adalah sosok guru honorer yang pantang menyerah. Setelah suaminya meninggal karena hepatitis, ia harus menghidupi anak-anaknya dengan penghasilan Rp 165 ribu per bulan.
Namun, hal tersebut tak menghalangi tekad Suharni menyekolahkan lima putrinya hingga perguruan tinggi. Bahkan si sulung telah meraih gelar doktor dari Jepang.
“Kalau dihitung secara matematika ndak mungkin ketemu. Tapi matematikanya Allah kan ndak begitu,” tutur Suharni ketika ditanya cara membiayai pendidikan putri-putrinya.
Di awal bekerja pada tahun 2005 sebagai guru honorer, gaji yang diterima amat minim. Padahal dia harus membiayai kuliah dua putrinya. Si sulung, Retno Wahyu Nurhayati Ph.D yang kala itu kuliah di Institut Pertanian Bogor, dan putri kedua, Novia Dyah Kusumadewi, di Universitas Negeri Sebelas Maret, Solo.
“Malam kadang ndak bisa tidur mikir biaya kuliah dan sekolah anak-anak,” kenang guru honorer di SMK Muhammadiyah 6 Gemolong, Sragen, Jawa Tengah ini.
Suami Suharni meninggal pada saat Retno kelas 3 SMP dan si bungsu, Janita Dyah Kusuma berumur dua tahun. Kematian sang suami membuat Suharni harus mengambil alih peran dan tanggung jawab. Dia merangkap sebagai ibu sekaligus ayah.
Untuk menambah penghasilan, Suharni membuka toko kelontong di depan rumah. Sambil menunggu toko, ia menemani anak-anaknya belajar. Dia menggelar tikar untuk belajar bersama.
Jerih payah Suharni mengantarkan seluruh putrinya berkuliah. Ia kini tersenyum bangga ketika Retno, sang sulung berhasil meraih gelar S2 dan S3 di Osaka University, Jepang.
Bahkan, pada 2017 lalu, Retno yang bekerja di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia mendapatkan penghargaan L’Oreal-Unesco For Women in Science National Fellowship Awards.\
