Kegigihan Supardi mempelajari penyulingan minyak cengkih akhirnya mengubah nasibnya yang tadinya kuli menjadi pengusaha minyak cengkih. Omzet yang berhasil diraupnya dari usahanya ini sungguh luar biasa, bisa mencapai Rp 12 juta per hari.

Pencapaian Supardi ini bukannya tanpa rintangan lho. Semuanya bermula saat ia menjalani pekerjaan sebagai kuli bangunan. Tapi pekerjaan yang dilakukannya itu gak bikin ia berhenti buat bermimpi. Supardi pengin hidupnya maju.

Pekerjaan kuli bangunannya pun ditinggalkan dan ia berkebun cengkih. Begitu panen, ia malah bingung hasilnya mau diapakan. Ia pun belajar dari pengusaha cengkih di Pekalongan gimana caranya melakukan penyulingan minyak cengkih.

Gak sia-sia. Dengan bermodalkan Rp 500 ribu, ia membuka penyulingan kecil-kecilan di samping rumahnya. Usahanya pun berkembang dan kini Supardi punya dua tangki dengan kapasitas per tangki sebesar 1.300 kilogram.

2. Sanawi, kuli bangunan yang jadi pengusaha es krim

Cuma lulus SD, kurang lancar membaca dan menulis, hidupnya melarat pula. Mungkin gak sih bisa sukses? Banyak orang yang berpikir, mustahil orang tersebut bakal jadi orang kaya.

Rupanya anggapan tersebut dibalikan Sanawi. Pria dari Blora, Jawa Tengah ini emang gak lulus SD. Membaca dan menulis pun gak lancar. Namun, ia gak mau terima nasibnya gitu aja.

Saat usianya menginjak 16 tahun, ia merantau ke Jakarta. Di ibu kota ia menjadi kuli bangunan.

Pada 2006, Sanawi ikut temannya ke Samarinda. Selama setahun di sana, ia merasa hidupnya gitu-gitu aja. Ia pun berjualan es krim demi meningkatkan penghasilannya dengan modal Rp 60 ribu saat itu.

Walaupun ada aja hambatannya, Sanawi gak pernah menyerah berjualan es krim. Perlahan-lahan, tapi pasti, usaha es krimnya pun berkembang. Sanawi juga gak segan belajar supaya bisa ada peningkatan.

Ia pun mengembangkan usahanya dengan mengajak teman-temannya yang bekerja sebagai kuli buat jualan es krim bikinannya. Ternyata keputusan yang diambilnya tepat.

Kini ia telah bekerja sama dengan lebih dari 700 pengecer. Dalam sebulan, Sanawi bisa menjual es krim hingga 9.000 ember di Banjarmasin dengan omzet hingga Rp 1,5 miliar per bulan.

3. Wak Doyok, kuli yang jadi pengusaha penyubur kumis

Siapa yang gak kenal dengan Wak Doyok? Krim penyubur kumis dan jenggot ini terkenal banget di kalangan para pria. Soalnya banyak yang merasakan khasiat dengan berhasil melebatkan kumis dan jenggot berkat krim Wak Doyok.

Usut punya usut, ternyata pemilik nama asli Mohd Azwan Md Nor ini dulunya pernah bekerja sebagai kuli bangunan. Ia mulai menjalani pekerjaan tersebut pada 2010 setelah dirinya di-PHK tahun 2008.

Kecintaannya pada dunia fashion rupanya membawa peruntungan pada dirinya. Ia pun berusaha memperbaiki penampilannya agar diterima bekerja di butik Ben Sherman.
