Istriku memang perhatian. Saking perhatiannya kadang dia tegas bernada tinggi Seperti: "Yah, jangan tidur larut malam. Besok diterusin lagi tugas kantornya. Ntar sakit." Atau ketika hari minggu. "Ayah gak jogging? Mumpung libur loh. Olahraga seminggu sekali." Dan ketika mau makan jeroan. "Hati lagi, usus lagi, paru lagi, jeroan terus. Itu gak bagus untuk kesehatan Ayah!" Ucapnya sambil menarik piringku.

Terkadang jengkel juga sih banyak banget peraturan. Tetapi kalau dipikir lagi, itu semua karena dia sangat mencintaiku. Dasarnya diriku saja yang ngeyel. Seperti saat aku sedang terserang diare. Dia melarang keras aku minum susu. Biasanya tiap hari sebelum ngantor aku disuguhi roti dan susu.

Setiba di kantor aku bekerja seperti biasa. Dan ketika sampai jam makan siang aku dibikin kaget bukan kepalang. Di dalam tas khusus bekalku ada sebotol cairan putih. Seketika mataku membulat besar. "Oh susssuu." Ucapku mendesis dengan suasana hati berbunga-bunga.

Tak perlu waktu lama botol itu langsung aku raih. Membuka tutupnya. Dan dalam hitungan beberapa detik kemudian langsung aku gunakan untuk membasahi tenggorokan yang sudah dua hari ini tak dilewati susu. Tapi...

Alamak! Ini aneh rasanya. Tidak seperti biasanya yang dibawakan istriku. Tetapi cukup lumayanlah untuk mengobati dahaga ini. "Yaang, ini yang bunda bawakan susu apa merknya? Kok rasanya beda? Eh terus katanya tadi gak boleh, kok ini dibawakan?" Tanyaku dari seberang lewat telpon.

"Oh itu susu lebih segar yaang. Lebih mahal juga. Kualitas ekspor. Bagus untuk stamina ayah. Ya karena bunda gak tega lihat muka ayah ngambek pas mau berangkat kerja. Udah dua hari ngambek ntar gantengnya hilang. Nah sekarang udah dikasih susu jangan ngambek lagi ya." Jawab istriku dengan lemah lembut. Aku pun percaya saja. Toh juga dari kekentalan dan rasa manis memang seperti susu. Aku percaya istriku memberikan yang terbaik.

Setiba di rumah, malam itu aku penasaran saja dengan merk susu yang istriku berikan. Sehingga aku cari ke sana sini. Seisi dapur sudah digeledah. Kulkas. Lemari makanan. Tempat-tempat biasanya menyimpang makanan. Tidak ditemukan. Hanya ada susu yang biasa aku minum.

Hal sepele sih. Tapi aku ini orangnya penasaran dan pengen tahu. Akhirnya aku masuk ke kamar pribadi. Kamar khusus tempat aku lembur mengerjakan tugas kantor dan main game agar tak diganggu anak-anak. Di kamar ini pula aku letakkan seperangkat alat yang terhubung ke CCTV untuk merekam aktivitas beberapa titik di rumah. Iseng aku check dua kamera yang di dapur dan ruang makan, memutar ulang adegan jam subuh sampai sebelum berangkat ke kantor.

Di situ aku melihat, ternyata istriku memasak dengan kondisi yang sepertinya masih ngantuk. Berulang kali dia peragangan dan menguap lebar, lalu memijat-mijat pundak. Pekerjaan itu dilakukannya setiap hari. Bisa jadi dia pernah merasa bosan. Tetapi tak pernah sekalipun mendengar keluhannya. Paling saat dia jatuh sakit, tiba-tiba berubah manja.

Beberapa puluh menit kemudian. Rasa penasaranku terjawab. Oh ternyata, istriku mendapat cairan yang disebutnya susu itu dari air putih yang keluar saat memasak beras (Air Tajin). Aku pun menepuk jidat sambil tertawa geli. Teringat saat zaman susah dulu emak sering memberi kami cairan seperti susu itu. Emak bilang itu minuman SusNi (Susu Nasi). Padahal itu bukan susu. Kelakuan Istriku ini langsung mengingatkanku pada emak, mereka punya kemiripan. Rela berbohong demi menyenangkan perasaan orang yang dicintainya.
